Abstract

This paper describes some basic control schemes that have been used to optimize the electrical energy consumed by various applications that require the use of electrical machines for their operation, specifically induction motors (such as machinery actuators, electric vehicles, hydraulic pumps, servovalves, robots, etc.) powered by a photovoltaic system. From a practical prototyping perspective, the goal is to use new technologies to implement the designed control techniques through the use of modern components such as 32-bit open-architecture microcontrollers, microcomputers, or FPGAs.
