Abstract

The paper discusses scientific results obtained in recent years on the content of heavy metals in soils located along highways in the eastern and southern regions of Georgia. It is shown that their levels vary significantly across regions. The exceedances of permissible levels for individual metals are estimated by region. The authors consider periodic monitoring to be necessary in regions where metal levels are well above the maximum permissible limits.
